Christmas In Candyland

That was the theme of this year's Tehachapi Christmas Parade. Last year, I was heading home from a trip to Home Depot for more tree lights when I noticed there were floats being prepared for a parade! We bundled up and walked right over. (We don't live far from the parade route.) This year, we knew when to expect it and we had been looking forward to the parade all week!

Thankfully, her hat and mittens from last year still fit!
She enjoyed waving to the floats with children on them.
Then, she started asking if she could ride on the float, too.
One of the people walking beside a float gave her a foam ball! Just what we needed!
In between floats, we let her take a couple of steps into the road to collect the candy that was thrown! Somehow it disappeared after we got home.
The flash was so bright! Who gets to kiss those sticky candy cane lips???
Most of the time, Jillian was looking for the next float and hollering, "Santa! Is it you?!" Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera ready when Santa came by. He and Mrs. Clause were very sweet and kind. Santa looked right at Jillian and bellowed, "HO HO HO!" This couldn't have been more appropriate. She always shouts this at school when her teacher reads a book that ends with a picture of Santa!
