Alpacas

Apparently, today is National Alpaca Farm Day and Jillian and I were invited to join our friends Regina and Alexandria (or Aluzdrayuh if you listen to Jillian's pronunciation). We visited Four Seasons Alpaca Ranch where we were greeted by the lovely family who runs the ranch. Their son, Parker, was our tour guide around the ranch. Not only was he very knowledgable, but he was as cute as a bug's ear, too.

First, we met T.M. who is a white alpaca living in a stall all by himself -- he's doesn't play well with others. Then, we met Taco and Cash, the ranch's only llamas. They were a bit shy. Jillian and Alexandria followed Parker's instructions to a T and held their little hands out waiting patiently for the friendly aloof llamas and alpacas to come and sniff them. Some were more interested in toddlers than others. Our next stop was the pen holding all of the pregnant mommy alpacas. They were shy and sweet. Then, we headed up the hill to meet Norman and Hunter. They're last year's babies. Lastly, we met another pregnant mommy alpaca and her babies. These babies were the most friendly to Jillian and even made some baaaa type noises at us.

After we perused the barn, viewed the baby bunnies, and purchased our very own teeny tiny alpaca figurine from the gift shop (made from real alpaca wool and named Preeka by Jillian), we headed over for some face painting that actually ended up being arm painting. Jillian has a purple butterfly on her arm that she's very proud of. I was proud of her for sitting so still! We ended our visit with a snack under an oak tree and some cardio on the stairs. We loved it and plan to go again next year!
